The reality is that people are not being given the correct
skincare advice. This creates confusion and hesitancy
on how to initiate a daily skincare regimen. Some
people simply are too confused to bother, avoiding
skincare altogether.
Your skincare programme will depend on the type of skin
you have - normal skin, oily skin, dry skin, combination skin
or sensitive skin. Become familiar with your skin. Start
treating your skin with extra TLC. After all, we have only
one face, and that is the body part most exposed, even
when we are dressed for winter!
Ageing becomes prominent once ne lines/wrinkles
appear. It’s vital to start educating our younger
generation on their skin.Teenagers are more prone to
problematic skin, leading to acne, scars, pimples/pustules,
etc…all caused through hormones, stress, and a poor
skincare routine.
Starting a daily skincare regimen from a younger age will
benet you in the long run. Prevention is always better than
cure.
However, it is also NEVER too late to start taking care of
your skin. You can begin NOW! Let’s look at the basic steps
to a simple yet impactful skincare regimen.
Cleanse − twice daily (morning and night)
Day/night moisturiser
Sunblock (daily − sun or no sun −apply your sunscreen
religiously every day)
Exfoliation − scrub (I personally recommend a gentle scrub
for oily skin − 2-3 times weekly; or for dry/combination skins
− 1-2 times weekly
Mask (use immediately after performing a scrub)
This may seem a big effort to t into our hectic lives.
However, the routine, once established, is not time-
consuming. Once results become visible, you will be
motivated to incorporate the routine into result in your
daily grooming, without further ado. Let’s strive to keep our
skin healthy, not just on the outside, but also on the inside. A
healthy diet contributes to great, radiant looking, healthy
skin.
